José López Rubio y Herreros (December 13, 1903, Motril, Granada Province – March 2, 1996) was a Spanish playwright, screenwriter, film director, theatre historian and humorist, a member of the Generation of '27.
He was the last standing member of the Generation of '27. He worked in Hollywood in the mid-1960s as a songwriter for the Paramount. Was nominated to an Oscar for Treasure of Madre Sierra. He was considered one of the biggest jewels of the Spanish art in the 20th century.
